Golden Isles Portrait Photographer || Dianna

This shoot was a blast! Dianna is a really good friend of mine, and I have taken lots of portraits of her before. One day I was dreaming and I just had this perfect vision of Dianna (who does ballet) dancing by the marsh. I knew this shoot had to happen, so I contacted Dianna pronto. ;) Well, it took a few weeks (months?) for it to actually happen, but when it did, it was the best.

Of course, it didn't turn out as I imagined. Usually dreams are never exactly like we think. But it was awesome still. It may not have turned out as I pictured it, but I'm still very happy with the results.

Dianna should be a model - she is just beautiful and very photogenic. :)

My best friend, Kendra, and my brother, Luke, tagged along. We drove along with the top down on our convertible, music loud, and spirits of adventure high. We had many adventures to get these shots - including a run in with a crazy cat lady and sliding through the sloshy mud, almost ruining Dianna's dress! We were also pretty silly and got shots like this one just for fun:

I wanted a picture of Dianna dancing underneath of this cool bridge, so we went and found it. We got the picture, but not without Dianna getting covered in mud past her ankles, and almost falling! It was all worth it for the perfect shot, though. ;)

All the adventures made it a very fun day, and to top it all off, we went and got frozen yogurt afterwards! :) It was an awesome time with great friends, and we even managed to get some good pictures out of it. ;) Thank you, Dianna, for being my model! We should do it again soon. :))

Golden Isles Portrait Photographer || Luke and Taylor

A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of taking Luke and Taylor’s Homecoming pictures. It was one of the funnest shoots I have done yet! Luke and Taylor were awesome and willing to do anything I suggested. :)

Luke doesn’t actually go to her highschool, so she had to ask him. The way she asked him was the best. She made a video of herself holding up papers that read something like: “I know I just met you, but you’re really cool and I think we’d have fun if... we went to Homecoming together!” :) :) :) So cute!

Luke and Taylor are both so much fun, and I'm sure that they had a blast at Homecoming! :)

Taylor is absolutely gorgeous, and I loved getting these headshots of her. She is a great model!

Luke and Taylor both play on the basketball team at Taylor's school, and that's how they became friends, so of course, I had to get some of them with a basketball. ;)

I love the urban feel of this shoot, and the beautiful sunlight. :) It was a gorgeous day!

I also got a shot of Taylor with my new bubble umbrella! It wasn't raining, of course, but I was dying to try out my new prop! ;)

Taylor shares my love of vintage, artsy things, so I had to get a few shots of her with my vintage Kodak. These shots are some of my favorites from the whole session! She is just too cute! :)

And Luke looked pretty studly as well. ;)

Thank you so much, Luke and Taylor, for letting me take your Homecoming pictures. It was perfect. :) I loved every minute of it! I hope you had a very special and memorable night. :)

Golden Isles Portrait Photographer || Pride and Prejudice Styled Shoot

A few weeks ago, my friend Kendra came to visit for 2 weeks. Seeing as we're both photographers, we obviously had to have plenty of photo shoots. ;) (we may or may not have gotten tired of photo shoots by the end of the two weeks. yes, it is possible for photographers to get tired of taking pictures. i know i just blew your mind.)

Anyway, this photo shoot was kind of last minute and extremely crazy. It all started one night when we were watching Pride and Prejudice (i mean that's what all teenage girls do when they get together, right?) After screaming at Elizabeth to "just kiss his face already," we were suddenly inspired to do a photo shoot inspired by Pride and Prejudice/Keira Knightley. So we began to get this amazing picture in our minds, plan the hair, the make-up, the dress, everything. We searched for hours for the perfect dress, ended up never finding it, and thought we would have to cancel the shoot. Then we get home and find the perfect dress right under our noses in the closet. Whoops.

So things were finally starting to come together. We thought this shoot would be perfect - nice and relaxed, everything great. Ha, no.

Instead, we have just walked in the door from another event, realize we only have like 2 days left before Kendra has to leave, and freak out. "Oh no, we still have to do the Keira Knightley shoot! We have to do it tonight!" Cue the wild searching because where did we leave that dress?!, crazy clicking of keys as we look up youtube videos for the hair, and the sighs of despair as we look in the mirror to see sloppily applied mascara.

After finally getting everything in the car, driving in the searing heat and getting make-up melted off our faces, we arrived at our destination - a very sunny beach.
Like very sunny.
This is the part where we argue discuss how Kendra told me we should have come later in the day! Several crushed lighting dreams later, we decided to move locations.

(this picture is the result of "kendra, stop driving! i see a picture!")

We drove all the way around the island to finally arrive at another beach. Thankfully, the sun had gone down quite a bit, and the lighting was now pretty much perfect.

After getting a few shots I actually thought I liked, we piled back in the car and drove home. What started as a crazy last minute plan ended as driving down the highway with the top down on the car, listening to the best music.

This shoot was definitely crazy, but I love the results, and even though we get burned out sometimes, it's always fun to do a photo shoot with Kendra. :)
